This Privacy Policy explains how Palmer Bookmaking Pty Ltd (ABN 89 154 794 411), operator of PAIMERBETT, handles your personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. Information we collect
- Identity & contact — name, date of birth, address, email, phone.
- Verification — ID documents and information needed to confirm your age and identity.
- Financial — payment method details, deposits, withdrawals and betting transactions.
- Activity — bets placed, markets viewed, responsible-gambling settings.
- Technical — device, browser, IP address and approximate location (to confirm you are in Australia).
2. Why we collect, use and hold it
- To open and run your account, accept bets and process payments.
- To meet legal obligations — age and identity verification, anti-money-laundering, tax and regulator reporting.
- To screen against BetStop, the National Self-Exclusion Register, before opening your account and before sending marketing.
- To meet our AUSTRAC obligations under the AML/CTF Act 2006 (Cth) — including identity verification, transaction monitoring and reporting (such as suspicious matter reports and threshold transaction reports).
- To protect against fraud, collusion and market manipulation.
- To support responsible gambling, including acting on limits and self-exclusion.
- With your consent, to send you service and marketing communications and to use analytics cookies.
3. Who we share it with
We share personal information only as needed with: payment and banking providers; identity-verification and fraud-prevention services; technology and cloud-hosting providers; regulators and law-enforcement where required; and professional advisers. We require these parties to protect your information. We do not sell your personal information.
4. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers may store or process data outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.
5. How long we keep it
We keep account, transaction and verification records for as long as your account is open and for a period after closure to meet legal, regulatory and tax obligations (generally up to seven years), after which we securely delete or de-identify it.
6. Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles you have the following rights:
- Access & correction — request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is wrong.
- Anonymity & pseudonymity (APP 2) — you may deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym for general enquiries. This is not practicable, however, where the law requires us to identify you — for example to open a wagering account or verify your identity under the AML/CTF Act 2006 (Cth).
- Direct marketing (APP 7) — you may ask us not to use or disclose your information for direct marketing and to opt out of marketing communications at any time. We will action your request promptly and at no cost.
- Deletion — you may ask us to delete or de-identify your personal information. We will do so unless we are required to retain it to meet a legal, regulatory or tax obligation (see "How long we keep it").
- Complain — you may complain about how we have handled your information (see "Privacy complaints" below), including to the OAIC.
To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer (details below). We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
7. Marketing & your choices
We only send marketing where permitted and you can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. We do not market to people who have self-excluded. See our Cookie Policy for how to control cookies.
8. Cookies & tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website. Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help the site function, remember your preferences and, with your consent, measure how the site is used.
We operate a consent banner when you first visit the site. You can accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or manage your choices by category (Essential, Analytics, Marketing). Essential cookies are always active as the site cannot function without them; all other categories require your active consent.
Your consent is recorded in a cookie (pb_consent) for 6 months. You can withdraw or change your
consent at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser settings and reloading the page, which will
cause the consent banner to reappear.
Full details — including a list of every cookie we use, third-party cookies, retention periods and opt-out links — are in our Cookie Policy.
9. How we protect your information
We use encryption, access controls and other technical and organisational measures to protect your information. If a data breach likely to cause serious harm occurs, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
10. Under-18s
Our services are strictly for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn an account belongs to a minor, we will close it and delete the associated data.
11. Privacy complaints
If you believe we have not handled your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) or the Australian Privacy Principles, you may raise a complaint with our Privacy Officer (contact details below). We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and provide a written response within 30 calendar days.
