This policy sets out how Palmer Bookmaking Pty Ltd (PAIMERBETT) supports responsible gambling, consistent with our licence from Liquor & Gaming NSW and Australia's National Consumer Protection Framework for Online Wagering. For practical tools and support, see our Responsible Gambling page.
Our commitment
Gambling is meant to be entertainment. We are committed to minimising gambling-related harm, making our control tools easy to find and use, advertising responsibly, and protecting minors and people who have chosen to exclude themselves.
National Consumer Protection Framework
We implement all ten harm-minimisation measures of the National Consumer Protection Framework (NCPF) for online wagering:
- Prohibition of lines of credit — we do not offer credit for betting or accept credit cards.
- Customer verification — we verify your identity, within 72 hours, before betting.
- Restrictions on inducements — no bonus bets, free bets, deposit matches or sign-up offers.
- Voluntary opt-out pre-commitment — deposit limits available at sign-up and any time.
- Activity statements — clear, on-demand statements of your account activity.
- Consistent gambling messaging — the legislated taglines on our advertising and site.
- Account closure — a simple, self-service way to close your account.
- National Self-Exclusion Register (BetStop) — we screen against and support BetStop.
- Staff training — staff are trained in the responsible service of gambling.
- Direct-marketing controls — marketing only with consent, with easy opt-out, and never to self-excluded customers.
The tools we provide
These tools are available free of charge to every account holder. You can access them through Account → Responsible Gambling in your account settings, or by contacting our support team.
- Deposit limits — set a daily, weekly or monthly cap on how much you deposit. A decrease takes effect immediately. An increase takes effect only after a 7-day cooling-off period to protect you from impulsive decisions. You are prompted to set a limit when you join, and we prompt you to review your deposit limit at least once a year.
- Take-a-break / time-outs — pause your account for a chosen period (for example, 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or a custom duration). You cannot bet, deposit or receive marketing communications while on a break.
- Reality checks — on-screen reminders that appear at regular intervals showing how long you have been logged in during that session.
- Activity statements — a clear record of all deposits, withdrawals, bets placed and net outcomes over any period you choose. Available at any time in your account.
- Self-exclusion — permanently or temporarily close your account to betting. We will not market to you while you are self-excluded, and we will refuse any attempt to re-open the account before the exclusion period expires.
Self-exclusion & BetStop
You can self-exclude directly with us at any time. You can also register with BetStop — the National Self-Exclusion Register to exclude from every licensed Australian online wagering operator at once. We screen registrations and marketing against BetStop and will not knowingly open an account for, or market to, an excluded person.
Advertising standards
We do not offer or advertise inducements (bonus bets, free bets, deposit matches or sign-up offers), in line with the Betting & Racing Act 1998 (NSW). Our advertising carries an approved consistent-messaging tagline and a call to action directing people to support, and we never target people who have self-excluded.
Consistent gambling messaging
We rotate the taglines required under the National Consumer Protection Framework, including:
- "Chances are you're about to lose."
- "What are you really gambling with?"
- "What's gambling really costing you?"
- "Imagine what you could be buying instead."
- "What are you prepared to lose today? Set a deposit limit."
- "Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?"
Protecting minors
It is illegal for anyone under 18 to gamble. We verify age before betting and act on any account suspected to belong to a minor. Parents and guardians can use filtering tools such as Net Nanny or Qustodio to restrict access on shared devices.
Staff & training
Our team is trained to recognise signs of gambling harm and to direct customers to support services.
