Account Closure & Withdrawals

Last updated: 29 May 2026

This page explains how money moves in and out of your PAIMERBETT account and how to close it. It supplements our Terms & Conditions and our AML/CTF & Source of Funds page.

1. Deposits

You can fund your account using the methods shown in your account — typically debit card (Visa or Mastercard debit), PayID or bank transfer. We do not charge a fee to deposit, though your own provider might. Deposits must come from a source in your own name.

Minimum deposit — $10. Maximum per single deposit — $25,000. Your own deposit limit (if you have set one) always takes precedence over these amounts, and larger deposits may require additional source-of-funds verification under our AML/CTF obligations.

2. No credit cards or credit betting

Under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (Cth), online wagering operators must not accept credit cards or offer credit for betting. We therefore do not accept credit-card deposits and never lend you money to bet.

3. Withdrawals

You can request a withdrawal of your available balance at any time from your account. By law and under our AML/CTF obligations, withdrawals are paid only to a verified account in your own name — we cannot pay a third party. We do not charge a withdrawal fee.

Minimum withdrawal — $10. Maximum per single withdrawal — $50,000. Larger amounts may be split into multiple transactions to comply with AML/CTF requirements and may require additional source-of-funds verification. There is no overall daily or weekly limit on withdrawals.

4. Processing times

Withdrawal processing times (after verification is complete):

  • PayID — within 4 hours, 24/7.
  • Debit card — within 24 hours, business days.
  • Bank transfer — within 1–3 business days.

Approved withdrawal requests received outside business hours are processed at the start of the next business day. Your bank or payment provider may add additional time after we release the funds.

5. Checks before we pay

Before releasing funds we may need to complete identity, payment-method or source-of-funds checks (see our AML/CTF & Source of Funds page). These protect you against fraud and meet our legal obligations. Nothing on this page limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

6. Deposit limits & control tools

You can set a daily, weekly or monthly deposit limit at any time. A decrease (a lower limit) applies immediately. An increase (a higher limit) takes effect only after a 7-day cooling-off period, as required by Australian law — during the cooling-off period your existing lower limit continues to apply. You are prompted at least annually to review your deposit limit. See Responsible Gambling and our Responsible Gambling Policy.

7. Inactive & dormant accounts

If your account has no activity for a continuous period, we may treat it as dormant and contact you using your registered details. Any balance remains your property and will be dealt with in accordance with applicable law and our licence conditions.

8. Closing your account

You can close your account yourself at any time — it is a self-service option in your account, under Account → Settings → Close account. You do not need to contact support to close it. Before the account closes, we will return any withdrawable balance to a verified account in your name once any required checks are complete. We may also suspend or close an account to comply with the law, our licence or our Terms & Conditions.

9. Closing vs self-excluding

Closing an account is different from self-exclusion. If your reason for leaving is gambling harm, consider self-exclusion or BetStop, which blocks you across all licensed Australian operators. Free, confidential support is available 24/7 on 1800 858 858 or at gamblinghelponline.org.au.

10. Tax

For most Australian residents, gambling winnings are not treated as assessable income and are not taxable, because betting is generally regarded as a recreational activity rather than a business. We do not deduct tax from your winnings or withdrawals. This is general information only, not tax advice — if you bet as a business, or you are unsure how tax applies to your circumstances, seek independent advice or refer to the Australian Taxation Office (ato.gov.au).
